Peer Review Contribution - JHCPU

This contribution reflects ongoing work within the peer‑review process for the Journal of Health Care for the Poor and Underserved. The role involves evaluating manuscripts for operational structure, methodological grounding, and alignment with the journal’s focus on access, equity, and the systems that shape care for underserved populations.

A first‑round review was completed in July 2026, resulting in an invitation for the authors to revise and resubmit. The updated manuscript, which examines how municipal transit shifts influence Medicare and Medicaid access, was submitted for second‑round evaluation on August 31, 2026. The second‑round review is underway as of September.

This work supports the development of research that explores structural disparities, transportation infrastructure, and the logistical realities experienced by public‑insurance communities.
